Carey Price to Carry Habs to Fourth Straight Victory

Written By: Iain Carnegie, BBBR

A four game road trip for the Habs resulted in six points as the Canadiens return home to face the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight at Le Centre Bell.

Carey Price has proven that the work with new goalie coach Stephane Waite is paying off. Producing his first shutout win of the season against the Winnipeg Jets is carrying the team momentum into tonight’s matchup back home in Montreal.

However, it will take a stellar performance team-wide tonight against a Columbus team that has been fierce against La Flanelle in their own barn over the years. On home ice, the Canadiens have a 2-2-1-2 record against the Ohio crew in which the last two games against Columbus have resulted in losses.

Max Pacioretty continues to be a concern as he left Tuesdays game early on with a lower body injury. It will once again be up to the line of Eller, Galchenyuk, and Gallagher to step up with a powerful performance. Prust, Subban, and Breire were the trio to find the net against the Jets proving that there is certainly depth to this team when it comes to scoring. A continuation of that would be more than welcome.

As 21,273 fans watch on, it will be important for this team to produce a win for their home fans. But if Price can continue to hold the fort, it looks apparent that the players in front of him can produce.
